The City began the official pass to pick up storm debris on Monday, October 21st.  All storm related debris should have been placed by the roadside by Sunday, October 20th.

The City will make 1 pass through the entire City for post storm debris collection.  This one pass may take up to 3 or more weeks to complete as all regular solid waste and recycling routes have to be collected too.  As each area of the City is cleared, it will be posted to the City website.

As of Saturday, October 26th, the areas of the City under the City of Bunnell service area jurisdiction has been cleared of all post storm bulk item debris.

The following sections of the City have been cleared for all storm debris (yard debris and bulk debris):

  • Pine Forest Mobile Home Park

  • Palm Terrace Mobile Home Park

The City Solid Waste Department continues to work on the collection of all remaining post Milton yard waste; however, it could take up to 3 weeks for all remaining yard debris to be collected.  The Solid Waste Department is working diligently to complete all regular routes and also pick up storm debris.  If the City has not gotten to your piles, we will get to them.

If your storm yard debris pile has not been collected yet, please be aware of the collection guidelines below.

To be picked up, piles MUST be separated and placed along the roadside.  Yard debris is only the following:

  • Vegetation- leaves, branches, and trees ONLY in compact pile (NOT 2x4s or other wood products)

  • Any other items such as bagged household trash, 2x4s, baseboards, wood trim, drywall, furniture, carpeting, cabinetry, are Bulk Items and have already been picked up as of October 26th.

NO HAZARDOUS WASTE IS BEING COLLECTED.  Citizens must take any hazardous waste to the appropriate dumping location.

Debris MUST be placed at the roadside, not across a swale.  The trucks cannot safely reach across a swale/ditch to pick up any debris.

If you do not want something picked up, DO NOT store it or place it at the roadside.  Store it far away from the roadside on your property.  If there are items placed at the roadside, they will be picked up.

Avoid blocking ditches and swales to prevent additional flooding and support stormwater drainage.

Avoid placing piles near or under ANY obstruction like overhead wires, mailboxes, utility pedestals, cars, etc.  If there is an obstruction, the pile will need to be moved before it can be picked up.

We appreciate your cooperation in placing debris out properly and understanding about how the debris collection process is being completed.
