Families of 14 of the Buddy Taylor Middle School students on board the school bus driven by a drunk driver in Flagler County Wednesday have expressed their wishes to pursue additional charges of child neglect.

Flagler County Schools bus driver Mark McNeil was arrested on Wednesday for Driving Under the Influence with Passengers Under 18, Resisting Officer without Violence and one charge of Child Neglect.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is recommending to the State Attorney’s Office that 14 additional felony counts of child neglect be added to the case against McNeil. The investigation is continuing and 11 other families could make the same request.

McNeil was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility Wednesday afternoon. Tests administered at the jail revealed McNeil had a blood alcohol content level of .32 and .31, respectively. That’s four times the legal limit in the state of Florida.

The 60-year-old Ormond Beach resident is currently out on bond.
