The SMA Healthcare Foundation will host its second annual Gala of Light on Saturday, November 7, 2026, bringing the Flagler County community together for an inspiring evening in support of SMA Healthcare’s behavioral health programs and services.

The Foundation is proud to announce Robbie Barrick as the 2026 Phoenix Award honoree, recognizing his remarkable journey of resilience, recovery and transformation.

The Phoenix Award honors an individual whose story demonstrates the power of overcoming adversity and rebuilding a life with purpose. Barrick’s journey embodies that spirit.

A respected builder and business owner, Barrick has spent more than two decades in the homebuilding industry. His career began at age 23 as a superintendent in Atlanta and eventually brought him to Florida. In 2021, he co-founded RBI Homes & Roofing before following his vision to establish Integrity Homes USA in 2023.

But his path to success was anything but a straight line.

At one point, alcoholism took Barrick to rock bottom. He lost nearly everything and experienced homelessness before reaching a point when he knew his life had to fundamentally change. Through recovery, faith, accountability and a willingness to accept help, he began rebuilding his life one day and one decision at a time.

Much like the homes he had spent his career constructing, Barrick discovered that anything meant to last must be rebuilt on a solid foundation.

Today, that foundation is centered on family, service, gratitude and helping others. Barrick remains active in the recovery community, sponsoring and mentoring men facing many of the same struggles he once experienced. He also has become a leader in the homebuilding industry, serving as President of his local Home Builders Association in 2025 and, in 2026, being elected Coastal Region Chair for the Florida Home Builders Association, representing the Volusia, Flagler and Orange County chapters.

Yet Barrick considers his greatest accomplishment to be helping raise his three children, Raelyn, Hudson and Hayden. Today, he measures success not simply by the homes he builds or the titles he holds, but by being present for his family, dependable to those who count on him and available when someone in recovery reaches out for help.

The Phoenix Award represents a life rising from the ashes,

and Barrick’s story is ultimately not about what he lost—it is about what he chose to rebuild.

It is that message of hope, recovery and the opportunity to rebuild that is at the heart of the Gala of Light. While the evening celebrates individuals like Barrick who demonstrate what recovery can look like, it also brings the community together to help ensure that others have access to the services and support they need to begin their own journey forward.

Proceeds from this year’s Gala will support SMA Healthcare’s work in Flagler County, including the Flagler Integrative Services Unit (ISU) and its crisis and residential services. The evening will also highlight SMA Healthcare’s growing presence in the county and the community partnerships helping make that work possible.

“Robbie’s story is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible and that no one should be defined by the most difficult chapter of their life,” said Susan Capone Rode, Executive Director of the SMA Healthcare Foundation. “The Gala of Light is about celebrating that hope while bringing our community together to make sure people have access to the support and services they need to begin writing their own next chapter. We are honored to recognize Robbie and the way he now uses his own experience to help others find their way forward.”

Additional event details, including the announcement of the 2026 Impact Award honoree, will be released soon.
