St. Augustine, FL (November 3, 2023) – The Northeast Florida Regional Airport is honored to announce that it is currently hosting U.S. Navy’s Naval Flight Officer (NFO) advanced training, which is set to continue until November 6, 2023. This significant training program involves 33 commissioned officers from Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, who are training to become airborne weapon systems specialists.

The NFO’s participating in this advanced training program are gaining vital expertise in flying the T45 Goshawk aircraft, which plays a critical role in enhancing the Navy’s capabilities. These NFOs, while not pilots, serve as essential crew members, specializing in weapons systems, navigation, and mission coordination.

Northeast Florida Regional Airport is proud to support the U.S. Navy in this important training initiative. This collaboration highlights the airport’s role as a key regional partner in furthering the readiness and capabilities of our nation’s armed forces. The T45 Goshawk aircraft provides an ideal platform for NFO’s to develop their skills and contribute to the Navy’s operational strength. In addition to the 17 NFO’s participating in the program, 30 dedicated maintenance personnel from V2X are working tirelessly around the clock to ensure the aircraft’s operational readiness. Their unwavering commitment and expertise are crucial in maintaining the T45 Goshawk aircraft’s reliability during this training period.

Northeast Florida Regional Airport is pleased to facilitate this important training mission and take part in our nation’s commitment to national defense. The partnership between the U.S. Navy, Naval Air Station Pensacola, and the airport exemplifies our dedication to serving our country’s defense needs.
