Sisco Deen spent a lifetime documenting Flagler County’s people, places, and things. As a Genealogist he accumulated data on over 350,000 individuals with ties to Flagler County. As a Curator and Archivist he collected and indexed thousands of artifacts and documents. As an educator, he not only assembled life and survival lessons from the community – he lived them as well.
Sisco’s love for history inspired and helped many in Flagler County and beyond. He was heavily involved with the Florida Historical Society and was the recipient of their highest recognition. After his passing we renamed the History Annex behind the Holden House Museum the “Sisco Deen Research Library”. It then became the goal of our Board of Directors to celebrate Sisco’s legacy county-wide every April, his birth month. “Sisco Deen Month” will now occur every April in perpetuity.
