Palm Coast, Florida, August 30, 2024 – Now preparing for its 41st year, the Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade will be held this year on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The revised date was changed in deference to the City of Palm Coast which is planning other numerous events on December 14. The date was announced by Sarah Ulis, Chair of the Parade, which is sponsored by the Palm Coast Yacht Club.
The Parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Cochise Waterway and head south to the Grand Haven gazebo where it will turn and boats will return to their home ports. The City will provide free shuttle service between European Village and the Daytona State College Campus parking lot and the Community Center.
Continuing its tradition of recognizing individual outstanding service to the community, the
2024 Parade will be held in honor of Sheriff’s Office Dispatcher Megan Burton. Burton has been named Florida Sheriff Association Dispatcher of the Year.
“Reel Freedom,” a 46-foot Ocean Yacht Sportfish, will serve as the Parade’s lead boat. The boat owned by Palm Coast resident Justin Wilmot and his family will carry the Grand Marshalls for the Parade, Mayor David Alfin, Sheriff Rick Staly, and Commissioner Randy Stapleford of the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND). Also boarding will be parade honoree Megan Burton. FIND is providing a major grant to the Parade to support advertising.
This year Parade Chair Sarah Ulis hopes that the highly anticipated event will exceed the record set last year with nearly 150 brightly lit boats and thousands of spectators. The Parade is expected to retain its stature as the third largest lighted boat parade in the United States and the largest in Florida. For the sixth year it will be broadcast live by Flagler Broadcasting on KOOL-FM, 100.9. The City of Palm Coast will provide worldwide simultaneous live coverage on YouTube.
