HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY, Fla. – A family guy through and through Kyle Busch has gone from (reckless and) Rowdy to keeping it clean on the track now as the father of two. But it doesn’t mean he can’t deliver when the race is on the line and as a two-time NASCAR Cup Champion, he knows what it takes to be on top.

Staying connected and sharing those moments with his wife Samantha over his 20+ year career has always been important, so when the chance to partner with Straight Talk Wireless came up at Homestead this weekend, Busch was all in to help support the Family Dynasty Plan Sweepstakes from Straight Talk Wireless.

“I think it’s great to be able to stay connected. We’ve got the technology in this day and age to be able to do that,” he said. “There’s plenty of means of connection through Facetime, and phone, talking, texting, it’s really cool. I love it, my family loves it, of course, my wife she loves it. We’re always staying connected no matter where we are.”

“I think the biggest thing here is introducing the Family Dynasty Plan Sweepstakes from Straight Talk Wireless and the value is of 100 years of wireless service on the network America relies on. So, that’s a great chance. It’s not just any sweepstakes where you win a trip or car or something like that. This is one that can actually benefit you and your family for years down the road,” he added, giving props to the brand.

“I’ve built my family dynasty in racing and had the opportunity to partner with Straight Talk, especially with the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead this weekend. It’s going to be a cool race. There’s going to be a lot of great action. There’s guys racing for the championship coming into the final few weeks here, and of course, people can enter for their chance to win.”

One lucky winner will take home the grand prize of $108,000, the equivalent of 3 lifetime Silver Unlimited Plans offering unlimited talk, text and data with no contract required. Coming at time when families are juggling any number of financial responsibilities, the No. 8 driver for Richard Childress Racing, who has built his legacy in NASCAR through hard work and true grit, sees it as a win-win for everyone.

“It certainly helps in any form or fashion. You can utilize those funds in so many different buckets that families have a need. If they want to get their son or daughter started in a sport, whether it be baseball, or basketball or racing, something like that, there’s expenses around that, traveling to and from events, and you know you’ve got groceries, other home bills, so there’s plenty of opportunity to reallocate these funds where they would be needed to stay connected.”

Preserving the Busch NASCAR Legacy

This weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway Busch is hoping to continue his streak of winning at least one race per season as part of his own NASCAR legacy.

“I’ve been on the NASCAR circuit for 21 years, (and) I’m going after one win in each one of those years. I still haven’t gotten that win this year so I want to extend my streak of 19 years of winning to 20 so hopefully we can do that in the Straight Talk Wireless 400.”

Sure to be cheering him on in addition to his loyal Rowdy Nation fans (GO KYLE!) will be his family, wife Samantha, young racing son Brexton, and Barbie car driver, 2½ year old Lennix, making up the next generation set to continue the Busch family dynasty in NASCAR.

Having little eyes watching him reminds him to keep it clean while still giving it his all as one of the sport’s best wheelmen.

“I feel like having my son now, and having him racing that’s a big thing for him what he’s been wanting to do and accomplish, so I do try to apply my nature a little bit more reserved than I did before, and try to go out there and win races and compete to the best of my ability to the cleaner factor,” shared Busch.

“My earlier days, I don’t have the nickname Rowdy because I wasn’t, I certainly made some enemies back in the day but (you) always kind of learn from some of those lessons and the things you were accomplishing or doing on the racetrack,” he said, hoping to share some of his wisdom with his children.

Does he see daughter Lennix one day on the track?

“Absolutely. She’s only two and a half, she’s already burnin’ up the Barbie car around the streets and the go-carts and all that stuff, so we’ll see how that goes for her. I thought one was enough, we’ll see if she wants to do it too,” he said, with obvious pride in his voice.

“(NASCAR) has meant a lot obviously, a lot of great perks and a lot of great things that have come for me becoming a professional race car driver and a lot of that has just kind of stemmed off of hard work. Having a dream, reaching for the stars, believing in yourself, and going out there and achieving it,” said Busch.

“Nothing ever comes easy. It was definitely a lot of blood, sweat and tears, a lot of hard work but a lot of great things have come from that. I’m real proud of that.”

Sharing some expert advice for drivers just starting out, Busch says it’s all about perseverance.

“You’ve got to have that grit, that determination, you’ve got to have that dream to be able to go out there an achieve that. Being able to make connections, working your way though the system, and going out and racing at the local short tracks and cutting your teeth and winning races at the smaller places in order to get people to recognize your name and working your way up to the top.”
