Flagler County Coastal Engineer Administrator Ansley Wren-Key added, “The water levels didn’t reach the dunes along any stretch of the coast. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as erosion… the lower berm/beach has a small scarp (18”) due to equilibration of the profile within the Army Corp reach, except the last 10 blocks of the USACE project has a larger scarp height of about 3 feet. I will be talking to the city of Flagler Beach and the army corps about removing the scarp since it is turtle nesting season and is required in the permit. Overall, I would say very minor erosion along our 18-mile coastline.”
