BUNNELL, FL – On Monday, December 18, 2023, an FCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on State Road 11 in Bunnell. Contact was made with the male driver and a female passenger and drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view and the odor of cannabis was emitting from the vehicle.
Both subjects were removed from the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. The search discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a single shot, bolt action, .22 caliber short-barrel rifle in the vehicle. It was determined that the male driver, identified as 22-year-old Nathan Tanner from Georgia, was a convicted felon and on felony parole from Georgia for Burglary.
During Tanner’s arrest, additional narcotics were located in his shirt pocket. Tanner was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Violation of Parole.
Upon arrival to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, a glass pipe was located hidden in his groin area and Tanner was additionally charged with Introduction of Contraband into an Inmate Facility. He is being held on $91,000 bond. The female passenger was released from the scene.
