PALM COAST, FL – Yesterday, Wednesday, February 14, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) recovered a vehicle reported stolen from Broward County, Florida.

At around 8:20 p.m., FCSO’s Commander Dopp observed a stolen 2022 Nissan Armada at the RaceTrac gas station on SR 100 in Palm Coast. The Nissan had been reported stolen from Broward County on February 13th. Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the stolen vehicle and secured the driver, identified as Lacey Moyer, 46 of Ft. Lauderdale. Moyer also was a fugitive from Barto County, Georgia wanted for two counts of Larceny and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

One of the passengers of the vehicle, identified as Lamar Gist, 39 from Jacksonville, was also wanted in Clay County, Florida for Operating a Motor vehicle without a Valid License.

Moyer told deputies that she “thought this might happen” and alleged that she “borrowed” the rental car from a friend in south Florida and drove it to Jacksonville but knew it was not up to date on payments. She was also found in possession of multiple driver’s licenses and credit cards in different names. The investigation is continuing on Moyer.

Moyer was arrested for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and for being a fugitive from justice for the outstanding warrant. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility where she is currently being held without bond.

“This driver thought she could stop in Flagler County on her road trip in a stolen car but instead found herself at Flagler County’s rest stop for criminals – the Green Roof Inn, for Valentine’s Day,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “I’m proud of our team for quickly recovering this vehicle and safely apprehending this fugitive and her wanted passenger. Let this be a warning to other fugitives: wherever you’re going or wherever you’re coming from, stay on 95 and do not stop in Flagler County because you will be captured and brought to justice.”
