Palm Coast – The City of Palm Coast is closely collaborating with Flagler County Emergency Management to monitor disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean. While these disturbances may or may not develop, all residents are encouraged to take proactive measures and prepare for any potential storms that may come this season.

In the spirit of preparation, the City of Palm Coast has completed a comprehensive run-through test of its Emergency Operations Center at City Hall. During emergencies, City Hall’s Community Wing acts as the central hub for all critical decision-making processes to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors.

By preparing in advance, any potential challenges can be faced with confidence and resilience. Residents should stock up on essential emergency supplies to sustain everyone in the household for seven days, including pets. The recommended items include non-perishable food, bottled water, medications, clothing, cash (as credit card and ATM machines may not be functional during emergencies), battery-operated radios, and extra batteries.

Moreover, residents are urged to conduct an outdoor assessment of their properties to identify objects that could potentially be launched by strong winds. Loose tree limbs, outdoor furniture, and other items should have a way to be properly secured to minimize potential damage and risks during a storm.
