Palm Coast – The Palm Coast City Council meets regularly to discuss and vote on official City business. These meetings are open to the public and Palm Coast residents are strongly encouraged to attend. An increase in public engagement helps to build a stronger sense of community, increases valuable discussions, and decreases division.

Proclamations

The following items will be presented as proclamations:

  1. City Council will present a proclamation to declare April 2023 as Parkinson’s Awareness Month to raise public awareness of the need for research and support for those in the community living with Parkinson’s disease.
  2. City Council will present a proclamation to declare the week of April 23, 2023, as Crime Victims’ Rights Week to reaffirm the City of Palm Coast’s commitment to creating a victim service and criminal justice response that assists all victims of crime during Crime Victims’ Rights Week and throughout the year; and expressing our sincere gratitude and appreciation for those community members, victim service providers, and criminal justice professionals who are committed to improving our response to all victims of crime so that they may find relevant assistance, support, justice, and peace.
  3. City Council will present a proclamation to declare April 2023 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month to call attention to the fact that sexual assault violence is widespread and impacts every person in this community, and encourage all citizens to support the “Start By Believing” public awareness campaign designed to improve the responses of friends, family members, and community professionals, so they can help sexual assault victims access supportive resources and engage the criminal justice system.
  4. City Council will present a proclamation to declare April 2023 as the Palm Coast Fire Department’s 50th Anniversary and urge all residents and businesses to join us in honoring and celebrating the Palm Coast Fire Department for its outstanding service and contributions to the community at a celebratory event on Saturday, April 22nd at Fire Station 21, 9 Corporate Drive, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Presentations

The following items will be presented:

  1. City Council will present the certified municipal clerk pin for Ms. Kaley Cook, Deputy City Clerk, who received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation. Completion of a recognized career development academy or a baccalaureate degree in public administration or a related field, responsible experience in local government, and participation in conferences, meetings, and educational seminars are required to earn the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk designation. The program aids municipal clerks in improving job performance and recognizes the professionalism of the Municipal Clerk’s office.

Resolutions

The following resolutions will be presented for approval:

  1. City Council will present a resolution to approve naming a public facility. Council Member Theresa Pontieri is requesting to name the walking trail on Palm Harbor Parkway (from the point of Cimmaron to European Village) in honor of Mr. Al Krier. Mr. Krier was a well-respected advocate for the safety and walkability of Cimmaron Drive.

Consent

The following consent items will be presented together for approval:

  1. A resolution approving the purchases for fiber optic outside plant construction for US 1 from Palm Coast Parkway to State Road 100.
  2. A resolution authorizing a work order for service to retrofit the HVAC Metasys controls system at the Community Center using the existing NJPA/Sourcewell State of Minnesota contract #070121 with Johnson Controls, Inc.

Public Comments will be opened at the beginning and end of the business meeting in accordance with Section 286.0114 Florida Statutes and pursuant to the City Council’s Meeting Policies and Procedures. Each speaker will approach the podium, provide his/her name, and may speak for up to 3 minutes.

 

Meetings of the Palm Coast City Council typically occur three times per month. A 6 p.m. business meeting on the first Tuesday of the month, a 9 a.m. workshop meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, and a 9 a.m. business meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. All meetings occur in the Community Wing at City Hall at 160 Lake Avenue in Palm Coast.
