PALM COAST, Fla. – It seemed as if the beloved Starlight Parade would never return to its original glory after that fateful tornado in 2014 cast a cloud of doom over the festivities. On Saturday night Flagler County residents from across the community came together to participate in the return of Palm Coast’s Starlight Parade.
From beautifully crafted floats like Flagler County’s silver and gold best of parade winning entry to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s award-winning most decorative display, and Flagler-Palm Coast High Schools’ best marching band win, the magic of the holidays was unleashed on Town Center with a glitz and glamour not seen for many years.
Families came early to enjoy music and activities, grab a bite to eat, and even stroll the Rotary Club’s Fantasy Lights display around the lake before the official kickoff at 6 pm of the parade. Dignitaries, offered a prime location to view the parade, opted to walk among the people, shaking hands, handing out candy and getting to know their neighbors throughout the evening.
The Starlight Parade is part of a month-long holiday celebration in Palm Coast recognizing the 25th anniversary of the City of Palm Coast.
