Hey anglers, Capt. Adam Morley here with your weekly fishing report. It’s a short one this week as Chris from Skinny Water Lures is on vacation and I’ve not had a lot of personal time on the water as of late. But…the mullet run is officially underway, and while the conditions have been challenging, it’s still an exciting time to be out on the water. The heavy rain recently has made the water quite dirty, and overall fishing reports have been slow as a result. However, for those looking to target redfish, the Matanzas Inlet bridge has been a reliable spot with solid action. We’ve also been hearing plenty of reports of snook in the area.
Given the mullet run, live mullet is your best bait choice right now, but live shrimp and blue crabs are also working well. Out in the surf, conditions have been pretty rough, but we’re starting to see some Pompano showing up, even though the water is still a bit warmer than they usually like.
Finally, if you’re interested in getting the next generation involved in fishing, there’s a free High School Fishing Clinic happening this Saturday at Genung’s Fish Camp from 10 AM to 2 PM. Be sure to check out the flyer and QR code for more information and free registration.
Tight lines, and I’ll see you out there!
