UPDATE: ADVISORY LIFTED. Florida Department of Health-Flagler issues a water quality advisory for River-to-Sea Preserve

Palm Coast, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County (DOH-Flagler) is lifting the advisory for high bacterial levels the following location:

River to Sea Preserve
9805 N. Ocean Shore Blvd.
Palm Coast, FL 32137

Tests completed on August 10, 2026 indicate that the water quality at River to Sea Preserve shows an acceptable level of Enterococcus bacteria established by state guidelines. Test results are available at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.

August 11, 2026 – Flagler County officials are alerting beachgoers that the Florida Department of Health-Flagler has issued a water quality advisory for River-to-Sea Preserve (9805 N. Oceanshore Boulevard, in the northeastern portion of the county).

“Tests completed August 3, 2026, indicate that the water quality on the beach at the River to Sea Preserve does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health,” the release states. “Sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines.”

Florida Department of Health-Flagler advises against any water-related activities at this location due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers.

This advisory will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. Test results are available at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.
