June 11, 2026 – Flagler County got good news when Zach Chalifour of James Moore and Company presented the audit findings for Fiscal Year 2025 to the Board of County Commissioners at its workshop meeting this past Monday.

“The short of it is this was a very good, clean audit,” said Interim County Administrator Adam Mengel. “We were told the Financial Audit Reports had an ‘unmodified opinion,’ – the best opinion – as the ‘financial statements present fairly, in all material respects.’”

Federal and state single audits were performed on grants, and there were no findings.

Six audits were completed: one for each of the five constitutional officers and the BOCC.
