TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Today, First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the second annual ‘Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive’ benefitting foster families, Hope Florida participants, and Florida families in need this Holiday season. Hope Florida, in partnership with Florida’s state agencies, will collect donations until December 13, 2024.
“Every child should get to experience the joy of opening a present on Christmas day,” said First Lady Casey DeSantis. “Our Hope Navigators work tirelessly to ensure that Floridians in need are connected to resources and on their path to self-sufficiency. Through the donations of individuals and the goodwill of communities, the Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive will go the extra mile to ensure a magical holiday season.”
The Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive can be accessed through this website, where individuals can purchase new and unwrapped toys to be sent directly to Hope Florida. These toys will be organized and distributed to nonprofits and families by Hope Florida throughout the month of December.
“Our Department works hard to support and uplift families year-round,” said Department of Children and Families Secretary Shevaun Harris. “We are appreciative of the First Lady’s commitment and dedication to meet the needs of our State’s vulnerable families. This initiative ensures that those parents and caregivers in need will be able to create special memories with their children this season.”
First Lady Casey DeSantis has charged state agencies and Floridians to help in any way they are able to support foster families and caregivers. Through this charge and a partnership with Hope Florida, the ‘Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive’ will be able to bring a little more hope to Florida’s children.
Distribution events will be scheduled throughout December. Organizations who are interested in partnering with Hope Florida can contact the Department of Children and Families at hopeflorida@myflfamilies.com.
