BUNNELL, FL – Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies made 9 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, and 6 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024. They handled 673 calls for service and made 217 traffic stops.
“Overall, this was a slower weekend for Flagler County, which is never a bad thing,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “A Sheriff is on-duty 24/7 and I’m glad I was at the restaurant to immediately intervene when a customer started causing problems.”
Sheriff Staly Trespasses Obnoxious Customer During Date Night
On the evening of Friday, April 12, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and his wife Debbie were having dinner at a local Palm Coast restaurant with friends when the restaurant staff advised him that a man was inside the waiting area harassing other customers.
The subject had created a dreamcatcher with a large fishing hook affixed to it and was swinging the item around inside the restaurant.
Never one to sit on the sidelines, Sheriff Staly immediately contacted the suspect and notified on-duty deputies to respond. Together, they trespassed the individual at the request of restaurant management.
Since the subject did not have any pending warrants, he was given a Written Trespass Warning and was escorted from the premises.
“Local businesses shouldn’t have to deal with obnoxious patrons harassing other customers. Since I was already there onsite, I was happy to assist them and get him off their property immediately,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “A Sheriff is never off duty.”

Bunnell Man on Bicycle Arrested for Drugs, Violates Probation
On Saturday, April 13 about 10:30 p.m., Deputy Gaddie conducted a traffic stop on a bicycle rider he observed crossing State Road 100 at Moore St. without a visible light.
The rider identified as Michael Boyd, 42 of Bunnell, was still on probation following a felony arrest for possession of MDMA and drug paraphernalia in April 2023. When asked if he had anything illegal on his person, Boyd hesitated and looked down before telling Deputy Gaddie he was carrying a pipe.
During a search, deputies located a hollowed-out pen in Boyd’s front pocket. He was also found to be in possession of a black jar containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive for MDPV cathinone, Sildenafil Citrate pills that are prescription-only, and crumpled burnt tin foil.
Boyd was arrested for Possession of Cathinones, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Drug without a Prescription, and Violation of Probation. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility where he is currently being held without bond. Boyd has been arrested five times on various drug charges since 2018.
“Boyd is no stranger to law enforcement, and unfortunately his stays at the Green Roof Inn keep extending. Maybe this time he will make the most of our many rehabilitation programs and turn his life around,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Get your life turned around or get ready for a ride to the Green Roof Inn.”
