Often times it seems like there are few people in this world that are true givers – those who make it a priority to help others, serve the community and put the next generation first. Lucky for Flagler County, there’s somebody here who most of know that is just such a person, and for once, she’s asked for something for herself.
On Friday, February 4th it’s Amelia Fulmer’s birthday.
You may know her as the Director of the Flagler Auditorium. You may know her as your child’s music teacher, once upon a time. You may know her as an avid supporter of the Arts in Education program, always looking for a way to enhance the connection between today’s students and the professional talent that makes its way to the Flagler Auditorium, and making sure teachers and students have the necessary tools to succeed in the fine arts. You may know her from your local business group where she’s a relentless networker, always sharing the attributes of the Flagler Auditorium and making connections with the business community. You may know her from your professional women’s group where asks how she or the auditorium can help aspiring women in business be the best they can be. You may know her from an arts community event where she’s helping ensure the sustainability of the arts in Flagler County.
No matter how you know Amelia, she’s always on the giving end for our community. This weekend, she’s asked for one thing. For our community to head to the Flagler Auditorium and share in her birthday weekend as two powerhouse shows make their way to Flagler County.
On Friday night, her birthday, it’s Adbacadabra, a tribute to one of the most feel good bands of all time – ABBA. From the subtle sexiness of the 70’s “Dancing Queen” and “Voulez-Vous” to “SOS” and “Mama Mia!”, it’s a night of magic and nostalgia, dancing to the music under the disco lights. She’s already bought her disco ball earrings in anticipation.
But the weekend doesn’t stop there. On Sunday it’s the long awaited arrival of Melissa Manchester. Serving up hit classics like “Midnight Blue“, the 70’s and 80’s songbird offers a glimpse into the songs that made her famous including “You Should Hear How She Talks About You“, “Don’t Cry Out Loud” and “Looking Through the Eyes of Love“. She even has a few special surprises in store for her show.

It’s an all-star, entertainment packed weekend, celebrating one of our community’s most beloved members. All it needs now, is you.
