BUNNELL, FL  — The Bunnell Police Department arrested Antonio Figueroa-Acevedo, 30, of Palm Coast, following a violent domestic incident reported at a Bunnell residence on the morning of June 12, 2026.

At approximately 9:55 a.m., Bunnell Police officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance. Officers learned the suspect, who was known to the victim, allegedly entered the residence without permission, attacked the victim, prevented the victim from leaving, and used violence during the incident.

The victim was able to escape and seek help. Officers quickly secured the scene, began the investigation, and requested assistance from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit. Detectives also obtained witness information and collected evidence related to the incident.

A bulletin was issued for the suspect and his vehicle to nearby law enforcement agencies. Through coordinated investigative efforts, Acevedo was located in St. Johns County by their Sheriff’s Office. He was secured pending arrest and later charged in connection with the incident.

Detectives prepared an arrest warrant, which was signed by the Honorable Judge Melissa Ditslear, charging Acevedo with the following:

Acevedo faces the following charges listed in the arrest report:

  • Burglary with Assault or Battery (1st degree felony)

  • Burglary While Armed (1st degree felony)

  • Tampering with a Witness (1st degree felony)

  • Domestic Violence – Strangulation (3rd degree felony)

  • False Imprisonment (3rd degree felony)

  • Grand Theft (3rd degree felony)

He is being held on No Bond at the St. Johns County jail pending first appearance before a judge in St. John’s County followed by extradition to Flagler County.

“This case reflects the kind of violence no person should ever have to endure,” said Chief David Brannon. “Our officers and detectives acted quickly, followed the evidence, and worked with our law enforcement partners to ensure the suspect was located and taken into custody. Domestic violence is not a private matter, and it will never be treated as one by this agency. When someone is accused of terrorizing, injuring, or trying to control another person through violence, we will pursue the facts, build the strongest case possible, and do everything within our authority to bring them before the justice system.”

Due to the nature of the allegations and victim privacy protections under Florida law, the Bunnell Police Department will not release the victim’s name, address, medical information, or any other details which could reasonably identify the victim.

The case remains an active criminal investigation. Additional information will be released only when appropriate and lawful.
