Palm Coast, Florida – Nothing can alter the optimism of Palm Coast business owner, Christi Radcliffe.

The serial entrepreneur, who owns and operates four Your CBD Stores, battled back from two strokes at the age of 27 and 34 respectively, while heading the sales team at the Jacksonville Symphony and, later, in the medical research field through her leadership of participant recruitment and screening efforts.

Had her congenital heart condition been diagnosed earlier and preventative steps taken, she could have prevented stroke.

“The discovery was devastating,” says Radcliffe, who had to drop out of nursing school just credits shy of her degree to focus on stroke recovery efforts.

Her mantra ‘do good and good things will follow’— shepherded her through challenging times.

It’s something Radcliffe practices daily in communities like Palm Coast, where she hopes her store can and will ‘do good.’

“Businesses like this are needed here and everywhere,” says Radcliffe.

Rest is Essential to Wellness

Sleep is sure to be a part of the center of the conversation when customers visit her store, according to Radcliffe.

On average, Floridians lost more than 3 hours of sleep daily since the start of the pandemic.

The CDC recognizes sleep deprivation as public health epidemic.

When coupled with chronic pain and inflammation issues, the challenges can seem overwhelming, and far too often, remain largely invisible, according to Radcliffe who hopes to raise awareness about common and chronic health issues.

More than 30% of Flagler County residents have arthritis, according to CDC reports. Countless others struggle with chronic inflammation issues associated with conditions like type 2 diabetes and heart disease, the underlying cause of Radcliffe’s strokes.

Many can benefit by CBD, which is becoming a more popular treatment method according to the Arthritis Foundation, which reports that nearly 80% of arthritics are either currently using CBD, have used it, or are considering it for their joint pain.

Bouncing Back

Whether recent or longstanding, these types of health challenges are growing everywhere, particularly here in Florida.

Palm Coasters are bouncing back from unprecedented pandemic-related stress and burnout levels, but some face a much greater ascent, according to Radcliffe, who is seeing a larger and decidedly younger group of customers who just want to make it through the week with a little less stress and an hour or two more of sleep nightly.

Although women face higher risk levels, a CVS study reports that compared to men, women often do not prioritize their own mental health because of their focus on taking care of others.

That’s why Radcliffe’s newest store boasts more retail space needed to house Your CBD Store’s growing line of scientifically tested and proprietary SUNMED products focused on promoting calm, improving sleep, helping shed pandemic pounds and managing chronic pain and inflammation.

As important, “it’s a warm and welcoming place” says Radcliffe, who believes everyone needs an oasis.

And that’s exactly what she hopes they will find at her Palm Coast store. This mission is greater than a newly opened location, according to Radcliffe.

“We’ve got to help our young families and other at-risk Palm Coast residents restore their inherent sense of resiliency,” says Radcliffe. “It’s time to get back to feeling like our best selves.”
