On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a call about a shooting that left one man dead and another man injured, during a home invasion on Regent Lane in Palm Coast.

The deceased has been identified as Zaire T. Roberts (DOB: 11/09/1998) of Georgia. Evidence recovered from the scene suggests an exchange of gunfire at the residence. Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) and detectives worked throughout the holiday weekend in an effort to resolve the incident.

“We have already received several helpful tips from the community over the holiday weekend,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We want to reiterate that there is currently a $5,000.00 reward through CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida for information leading to an arrest. We want to thank the community for their ongoing support and to encourage anyone else with information about this shooting to come forward. These cases can be complicated and take time to solve, but the information and evidence we have received indicates that we are on the right track and that we will successfully resolve this case.”

On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a call about a shooting during a home invasion on Regent Lane in Palm Coast. The incident is believed to be targeted towards the victim and there is no threat to the community.

“This incident appears to be targeted, and detectives are working around the clock to understand the situation,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “At this time, there’s no additional information we can provide but as the investigation evolves, we will ensure the community is informed. We want to remind the public that there is no threat to the community, as our detectives have been working this case to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting that appeared to stem from an armed robbery.”

At this time, the investigation is still ongoing and active, and as information becomes available, we will release to the community.
