The Palm Coast Arts Foundation introduced TURTLE #14 to the public art Turtle Trail Saturday, June 12 at noon at the Beverly Beach Town Hall, 2735 N. Ocean Shore Blvd. Sponsored by the Town of Beverly Beach and Debra and Jim Wingo, BEVERLY of course will be the namesake for the town itself.
Created by Flagler Beach artist, Stewart Maxcy, iconic 1950s historical images of Beverly Beach was the inspiration for Beverly.
“What a wonderful turnout today,” said Palm Coast Arts Foundation executive director Nancy Crouch. “Crowds seem to get larger for each unveiling of a turtle on the public art Turtle Trail! Beverly is Turtle #14, and a beautiful addition to “The Little Town with a Good Heart”.
“Special thanks to Stewart Maxcy, the artist (and his apprentice grandson, Stephen) along with sponsors Debra Wingo and the Town of Beverly Beach, represented today by Mayor Stephen Emmett. Let’s keep creating and envisioning more public art and programs for all of us to enjoy and experience and be the center of a thriving, energetic, and ever evolving magnetic life force right here in Flagler County,” she said.
Watch for news of three more turtles to be hatched on the Turtle Trail in the coming months.
