BUNNELL, FL – Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies made 10 arrests last weekend between 6 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, and 6 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023. Over the weekend, deputies handled 757 calls for service and made 199 traffic stops.

“Another poison peddler was sent to the Green Roof Inn this weekend for possessing poison,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Thank you to all of our agency’s veterans who spent their Veteran’s Day Weekend protecting the residents and visitors of Flagler County.”

Traffic Stop Leads to Narcotics Arrest

On Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of East Howe Street and North State Street in Bunnell. Deputies made contact with four individuals in the vehicle and while speaking to the occupants, deputies smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. None of the occupants could provide a medical marijuana prescription.

Deputies located marijuana and MDMA in a purse in the vehicle. 45-year-old Takedda Hall admitted the purse belonged to her and she was arrested for Possession of MDMA, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering with Evidence.

Hall was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. During the booking process, which includes the use of a body scanner, similar to those used at airports, additional marijuana was found on her person, resulting in an additional arrest for Introduction of Contraband into an Inmate Facility. Hall was released from the SPHIDF after posting $2,000 bond.

FCSO’s Drone Unit and Deputies Assist Bunnell Police to Locate Burglary Suspects

FCSO deputies responded to the area of South Anderson Street and South Bacher Street in Bunnell to assist the Bunnell Police Department in searching for two subjects involved in a vehicle burglary that had just occurred. The two black male suspects had fled upon sight of a police vehicle.

BPD officers and FCSO deputies established a perimeter in the area and requested the FCSO Drone Unit to assist with locating the two subjects. One subject was located and placed under arrest prior to the Drone Unit arriving on the scene. Using FLIR technology on the drone, a heat signature was located in the woods nearby. The drone operator directed units to the area where they located the other juvenile hiding in the brush and placed him under arrest.

The two juvenile males were turned over to BPD and arrested for Loitering and Prowling, Burglary of a Conveyance – Unoccupied and Unarmed, Trespassing in a Conveyance, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence by BPD.

“This was great teamwork and is an example of why we implemented our drone unit,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Now with an eye-in-the sky criminals can’t hide from us.
