BUNNELL, FL – During a hearing Wednesday morning, Monserrate Teron was sentenced to two life sentences and 30 years in prison, all to run concurrent, for his recent convictions. After a four-day trial in July, a Flagler County jury found Teron guilty as charged of two counts of Sexual Battery on a Person Less Than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation on a Person Less Than 12 Years of Age.

Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the State and the Honorable Terence Perkins presided over the case and pronounced sentence.

“Our Major Case Unit spent countless hours making sure this man will never see the outside of a prison ever again,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Due to their hard work along with the State Attorney’s Office, the victim and their family can hopefully gain some sense of justice that this pervert will never be able to hurt another child or take their innocence away.”

“This defendant molested a young girl for three years,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “It is a horrific case of child sex abuse, but Teron will spend the rest of his life in prison and not hurt this victim or another child again.”
