BUNNELL, FL – A registered Flagler County sex offender has been rearrested after failing to register his address in April of 2023.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Major Case Unit detectives traveled to Salvatore Parente’s registered address twice in April 2023 and contacted family members who advised he had not been residing there for several nights. It was later determined that Parente had resided at two separate locations between the dates of April 14, 2023, and April 23, 2023, neither of which were his registered address. Parente failed to update his temporary addresses with FCSO or the Volusia Sheriff’s Office during that time period.
An arrest warrant was obtained on September 8, 2023, and Parente was arrested by FCSO Community Policing Division Deputies on September 9, 2023. Parente was arrested for Sex Offender – Failure to Register and booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on $7,500 bond where he currently remains.
According to Florida Statute 943.0435, registered sex offenders must report in person at the Sheriff’s Office in the county in which the offender established or maintained a permanent, temporary, or transient residence within 48 hours of establishing residence.
Parente had been convicted of Sexual Assault in Connecticut in 1995.
“It is imperative that registered sex offenders keep their registered address up to date so that residents know who is living around them,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Since he can’t figure out his address, we will give him one at the Green Roof Inn. As Halloween approaches, FCSO will be conducting additional sex offender checks to ensure sex offenders are in compliance. Great work by our Major Case Unit and Community Policing Division for making sure we know where this guy is.”
