BUNNELL, FL – Esaiah Glenn, 24, was arrested early Monday morning after a Lyft driver reported that he had pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger. Fortunately, the gun clicked but did not fire, and Glenn fled the scene.

Esaiah Glenn, 24, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

On Sunday night, FCSO Sgt Parthemore was flagged down by a Lyft driver. The driver reported that he had been assaulted by a passenger he had picked up from Providence Ln and dropped off at 43 Bronson Ln.  While driving, the passenger put a gun to the driver’s head and pulled the trigger. The driver reported hearing the gun click before confronting the male and telling him to get out of the car. The passenger then made comments wanting the driver to shoot him and exited the vehicle.

FCSO Units began a search of the area. During the area search citizens in the Pine Lakes Apartments called stating a male matching the suspect’s description had been seen in the apartment complex trying to open car doors. K9 and other assets were deployed, and a search of the area was conducted but the suspect was not located at the time.

Through various investigative means, contact was made with a possible person of interest residing on Providence Ln. The person stated he had ordered a Lyft for his friend after his friend had made suicidal statements and showed him a gun but had not notified law enforcement of the incident. The Lyft ride was to drop his friend off at his home on Bronson Ln. The Lyft rider was then identified as Esaiah Glenn, 24.

Glenn was later located attempting to get a hotel room on Kingswood Drive and admitted to the incident stating that he hoped the Lyft driver would have shot him when he pointed the gun at him. Glenn was positively identified by the victim and was arrested.

“You can run but you can’t hide from FCSO,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This situation could have ended a lot worse, but I’m proud of the quick and sweeping actions our team to make sure our community was safe, and that the suspect was apprehended before he could hurt someone or himself. If you know of someone who is having a mental health episode, you should always call us to intervene before it escalates as it did in this case.”

Glenn was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He is being held on no bond.
