Palm Coast – The Palm Coast City Council meets regularly to discuss and vote on official City business. These meetings are open to the public and Palm Coast residents are strongly encouraged to attend. An increase in public engagement helps to build a stronger sense of community, increases valuable discussions, and decreases division.

The agenda for the City Council Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, May 14, at 9 a.m. will be as follows:

Presentations

The following presentations will be presented:

  1. The Community Development Department will present an update on the Comprehensive Plan 2050, presenting the proposed City Vision Statement and guiding principles crafted through engagement and feedback from our community, including hundreds of participants on the City’s Social PinPoint engagement tool.
  2. City Administration will provide an overview of an initiative aimed at enhancing citizen interactions with the City of Palm Coast. Acknowledging feedback about service quality, the City aims to align all departments to deliver consistent, exceptional service by focusing on citizen-centric enhancements.
  3. The Community Development Department will present an overview outlining the Roadway Construction Projects currently underway and those planned for the next three years. The presentation includes a thorough assessment of work planned for City Roads and State Roads, along with a County-wide Traffic Count Report.
  4. The Human Resources Department will deliver a presentation on the Permanent City Manager Search. During the April 9, 2024, City Council Workshop Meeting, consensus was reached, requesting staff to present additional information on the topic and the RFPs related to the piggyback contract. Staff has identified options for Council consideration and direction: 1. Go out to bid – Request for Proposals (RFP) for a search firm. 2. Piggyback on a current contract with a neighboring Municipality, utilizing a National Search Firm recommended by The Florida League of Cities. 3. Create and post a formal City request for proposal to select a firm.

Public Comments will be opened at the beginning and end of the business meeting in accordance with Section 286.0114 Florida Statutes and pursuant to the City Council’s Meeting Policies and Procedures. Each speaker will approach the podium, provide his/her name, and may speak for up to 3 minutes.
