City Council Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 9 a.m.
Palm Coast – The Palm Coast City Council meets regularly to discuss and vote on official City business. These meetings are open to the public and Palm Coast residents are strongly encouraged to attend. An increase in public engagement helps to build a stronger sense of community, increases valuable discussions, and decreases division.
The agenda for the City Council Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, June 11, at 9 a.m. will be as follows:
Presentations
The following presentations will be presented:
- The Financial Services Department will present an overview Of Property Taxes, Revenue Restrictions, and Financing Options. This will include an explanation of TRIM (Truth in Millage), Revenue Restrictions, Capital Financing Options, and the schedule of upcoming budget meetings and workshops.
- The Stormwater and Engineering Department will present the results of the Residential Speed Study. In January, City Council directed staff to perform a speed limit posting study on the City’s residential and Central Business Districts (CBD) roadways. Staff requested an assessment of the completed design for central diversion medians (traffic calming device) at two (2) locations on Florida Park Drive, an all-way stop sign warrant for two (2) intersections along Florida Park Drive, and an all-way stop sign warrant at two (2) intersections along Cimmaron Drive. Staff will present the speed limit posting study methodology, findings, and recommendations for Florida Park Drive and Cimarron Drive.
- The Community Development Department will facilitate the Comprehensive Plan Workshop #1, which will cover the first three elements that have been drafted: Intergovernmental Coordination, Public School Facilities, and Property Rights. An in-depth presentation will outline the goals, objectives, and policies developed after four months of extensive community outreach efforts by city staff with members of the community.
- The Community Development Department will give a presentation on Exterior Colors. In March 2024, the City Council requested an overview of the City’s code regulating exterior colors, Chapter 13 of the Unified Land Development Code. Staff will provide Council with a presentation of Chapter 13 – Exterior Colors of the Unified Land Development Code.
Public Comments will be opened at the beginning and end of the business meeting in accordance with Section 286.0114 Florida Statutes and pursuant to the City Council’s Meeting Policies and Procedures. Each speaker will approach the podium, provide his/her name, and may speak for up to 3 minutes.
Meetings of the Palm Coast City Council typically occur three times per month. A 6 p.m. business meeting on the first Tuesday of the month, a 9 a.m. workshop meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, and a 9 a.m. business meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. All meetings occur in the Community Wing at City Hall at 160 Lake Avenue in Palm Coast.
