“Our mission at the AAEA is to develop and create economic development through entrepreneurship within the underserved African American and minority communities through education. We also want to enforce the value of a cohesive and caring community that has pride in its city’s appearance as well as being a warm and welcoming community for families to be a part of. Baseball has always been a central element in African American communities. In 1946, Cypress Street Park and Kelly Field were elemental in the day-to-day of the Daytona Community and in the integration of baseball. As a partner with the Daytona Tortugas with such a successful launch of the 2022 Barrier Breakers Series and “TheNine” minority inclusion initiative, we are honored to be able to bring members of our community together with the bi-annual AAEA Adopt-A-Highway Community Cleanup, AAEA Family Fest and Movie Night at the Jack.“ said Leslie Giscombe, Founder, and CEO of the African American Entrepreneurs Association. “This is a great close to the 2022 season as we look forward to kicking off 2023!”
