Palm Coast – Due to an early morning crash on July 13, 2023, Interstate 95 northbound from Matanzas Woods Parkway to Palm Coast Parkway is closed. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes as the closure is expected to last for an extended period of time.

Emergency response teams are on the scene, working diligently to clear the area. The closure has been implemented to ensure the safety of both motorists and emergency personnel.

In addition to the northbound closure, the southbound lanes of I-95 are also experiencing lane closures due to the incident but are currently passable. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and patience while passing through this area.

Motorists traveling through Palm Coast are strongly advised to use an alternate route to avoid traffic congestion and potential delays on I-95.

𝐈-𝟗𝟓 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 | 07/13/2023 5:04 a.m. Crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on I-95 NB at MM 292.
A tandem tractor trailer traveling southbound when it struck a disabled vehicle in the right lane. This caused the tractor trailer to crash through the guard rail and Jack knife in the northbound lanes.
The tractor trailer was carrying sodium nitrate and an acid-based chemical spilled several gallons on the roadway. St. Johns County Fire Rescue Hazmat Team is on scene mitigating the chemical spill. This is NO hazard to the public.
All lanes northbound are closed. Southbound has 1 lane closed. The closure has been implemented to ensure the safety of both motorists and emergency personnel. Crews will be on scene for the duration of the cleanup. Heavy delays on Interstate 95 are expected.
