GENERAL PREPARATION:
- Stock Up on Supplies: Gather essential items like water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, and medications.
- Make a Plan: Discuss your emergency plans with your family, including where to go and how to communicate if separated.
- Secure Your Home: Check your property for loose items that could become projectiles in high winds and ensure windows are secured.
- Know your Zone: Find out now if your home is in a Hurricane Evacuation Zone by visiting flaglercounty.gov/emergency and clicking on “Hurricane Evacuation Zones.” This will display general evacuation information for hurricanes and other emergencies and is for informational purposes only.
EVACUATIONS: Residents living in mobile homes, coastal communities, and other specified areas below are urged to prepare for evacuation. When evacuations are ordered, they are issued by neighborhood. A shelter inclusive of pets and those with special needs will be set up at Rymfire Elementary (1425 Rymfire Dr, Palm Coast, FL 32164).

SHELTERING: The Flagler County Emergency Operation Center will open a public Hurricane Evacuation Shelter at 8 a.m. Wednesday in conjunction with a mandatory evacuation order.
After the Evacuation Orders are issued, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, residents seeking public sheltering will be able to go to Rymfire Elementary School, located at 1425 Rymfire Drive, Palm Coast. This pet-friendly shelter will serve as both a general population and special medical needs shelter.
Individuals with special medical needs, including those who require assistance with daily living, depend on electricity for oxygen support, or have medical conditions that limit their ability to care for themselves, should take note: it’s important for a family member or caregiver to accompany them to the shelter for proper assistance.
The shelter will also accommodate residents who are from an area under an evacuation order and have no other place to go. Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, rodents and turtles – are the allowed pets. There is a four-pet maximum. Pet owners should bring current vaccination records and supplies, including crates/cages, and medications.
For residents whose evacuation plans are to go to hotels/motels or stay with friends/family, we recommend you do so well before the evacuation orders are issued. preferably this evening, to help limit the traffic on the roads on Wednesday.

SANDBAGS: We encourage residents, who need sandbags to protect their homes, to purchase them at local hardware stores. For those unable to do so, local governments are continuing to provide them as follows:
