On Tuesday afternoon, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies responded to a call about an assault near the ramp of I-95 southbound and Palm Coast Parkway. After a search, pursuit and apprehension of the violent subject, 29-year-old Corey Kittle was found to be wanted in Pennsylvania on multiple charges. He now faces five additional felony charges after his local crime spree.

When deputies arrived on scene, the victim advised the subject was last seen riding his bicycle west on Palm Coast Parkway and described him as a light-skin male with long curly brown hair, riding a blue bicycle with a yellow cooler. The suspect, known to the victim as “Corey,” had an argument with the victim the previous evening and allegedly used a fire stove to burn the victim’s clothing and made slashing motions with a machete towards him. Further information was provided by the victim where he told deputies that “Corey” struck his tent, caused damage to it, and threatened to get gasoline to burn down the tent with the victim and his dog in it.
Later in the evening, deputies located a suspect matching the description of “Corey” in the Winn Dixie parking lot in Palm Coast. Deputies advised him that they were conducting a criminal investigation and the male was hesitant, wouldn’t provide accurate identification information, becoming increasingly nervous and when deputies attempted to secure him, he pulled away and fled on foot.
The subject ran through the hedges near South-Gate Bank, continued over Cypress Point Parkway and jumped over the railing on the sidewalk, continuing through a retention pond into the Walmart parking lot. Deputies briefly lost sight of him and then observed him exit the rear door of the Walmart automotive department near the rear loading bay.
A perimeter was established around Walmart and FireFlight and the FCSO K-9 Unit responded to aid in the search efforts. K9 Baro ultimately located the subject hiding under a Walmart semi-truck trailer that was backed up to the loading dock. The subject was brought to Advent for medical clearance and was identified as 29-year-old Corey Kittle. The victim positively identified Kittle to be the subject who attacked and threatened him.
While preparing to transport him to the jail, deputies conducted a search of Kittle’s backpack and located 4.4g of a crystal-like substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine, along with a broken glass pipe.
“This is another great example of a dirt bag trying to hide in Flagler and getting caught,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This guy is a convicted felon and fugitive wanted out of state and thinks he can and make violent threats. He found out that it is not tolerated in this community and we will put the resources into it to capture him. He can now enjoy his new accommodations at the Green Roof Inn while waiting for his one-way trip back to Pennsylvania.”
Kittle is no stranger to law enforcement. He was found to have an extraditable warrant in Pennsylvania for Failure to Appear, Dangerous Drugs, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Trespassing. His criminal history in Pennsylvania dates back to 2012 and he’s previously been charged with Fleeing to Elude Police, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, Disorderly Conduct, Flight to Avoid Trial, Simple Assault and Cruelty to Animals. With a criminal history starting this year in Florida, he’s previously been arrested for Fraud/False Identification to Law Enforcement, Burglary of an Occupied Structure, Larceny – Petit Theft, Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoid.
Kittle was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He’s was arrested for Providing a Fictitious Name to Law Enforcement, Resisting Officer without Violence, Burglary, Petit Theft, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He’s being held on no bond.
