It’s Career and Technical Education Month across the state of Florida, and this week Flalger’s Technical College is getting a double feature.

Filling a number of gaps in Flagler County, Flagler Technical College is providing workforce training and technical certifications in high-demand fields, helping Flagler County residents gain valuable skills or upskill, to better increase their quality of life.

On Friday, David Ayers, president and general manager of Flagler Broadcasting features Flagler Technical College Director Renee Stauffacher as his guest on Free for All Friday to talk about the collaboration between Flagler Technical College and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Providing an opportunity for individuals serving their sentence in Flagler County’s corrections system, the Homeward Bound Program is helping inmates earn their GED or high school diploma, and in some cases setting them on the pathway to professional certifications.

Cohosted by David Ayres and Brian McMillan, managing editor of the Palm Coast Observer, guests Flagler Technical College Director Renee Stauffacher, Sheriff Rick Staly, and FCSO Court & Detention Chief Dan Engert talk second chances and workforce development in Flagler County on Free For All Friday at 9 AM on WNZF 94.9 FM.
