November 17, 2021 – The Flagler Beach Police Department is proud to announce that our annual “Toys for Tickets” safety campaign will once again be repeated for the 2021 holiday season!  Citizens who receive a written warning for a traffic infraction or a parking offense can volunteer to participate in a program that truly benefits the youth of our community. Citizen participation in this program is 100% voluntary.

Beginning Friday, November 19, 2021 and continuing through Friday, December 10, 2021, Flagler Beach Police Department Officers, at their discretion, will be issuing “Toy Waivers” along with written warnings for non-criminal State traffic and/or City parking offenses.  The “Toy Waiver” provides motorists with information on how to donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Police Department. At the end of the campaign the Police Department will turn over all donated toys to our partner in this initiative; “Christmas Come True”.

Christmas Come True” is a local non-profit organization, whose mission is “to add the “Merry” to everyone’s Christmas and to improve the average quality of life in the Flagler community, beginning by bringing comfort and joy to the lives of those who need it most.” Motorists who voluntarily choose to participate in the program will be instructed to drop off a new, unwrapped toy, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at our Department, which is located at:

Flagler Beach Police Department 204 South Flagler Avenue, Flagler Beach, FL 32136

“We started this program in 2015 and we’ve been blessed each year with overwhelming generosity. The global pandemic has been difficult for everyone, and we’re hoping this year’s efforts will bring about joy to the children of our community by those that choose to participate.” stated Flagler Beach Police Chief Matt Doughney.

Chief Doughney continued by stating, “Over the past six (6) years we’ve created positive memories for many families in need during the holidays, and the success of this initiative is due to the kind and generous hearts of our community.” Doughney concluded with “Our goal is to keep our roadways safe during the holiday season, and doing so by “paying it forward” is in line with the spirit of giving!”.

When asked about this year’s campaign, Ms. Nadine King, Founder of “Christmas Come True” stated the following, “Flagler Beach Police & Christmas Come True are making a team so children can dream.  During the holiday season we’re forgoing a fine… just in the nick of time, …so kids can find joy in your donated toy”.
