Tomoka Eye Associates proudly announces the addition of Dr. Lindsey N. Hutchinson to its team of dedicated eye care professionals. Dr. Hutchinson is board certified with the American Board of Optometry and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice.
A native of Russell, Kentucky, Dr. Hutchinson pursued her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Kentucky. Her passion for optometry led her to Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she earned her Master’s degree in Vision Science and Optometry. Following her academic pursuits, Dr. Hutchinson completed her residency at the Lexington VA Medical Center, deepening her expertise in contact lenses, low vision, and ocular disease.
Dr. Hutchinson’s journey into optometry was inspired by personal experience. Having faced her own eye issues, she formed a special bond with her optometrist, who shared her profound love for the profession. Motivated by this connection, she decided to pivot to optometry — a decision she hasn’t regretted. She takes immense satisfaction in her role, saying, “Helping people see better is deeply rewarding.”
Outside the clinic, Dr. Hutchinson is an outdoor and sports enthusiast, with a fondness for sand volleyball. She recently moved to the Ormond Beach area in August, following her husband’s appointment at ERAU. When she isn’t aiding her patients or spiking volleyballs, you can find her enjoying the beach and exploring her new surroundings.
