Palm Coast, FL – On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the City of Palm Coast Public Works Department hosted its fifth ‘Keep Palm Coast Clean – It’s a Litter-ALL Effort’ community litter pick-up event. Early that morning, over 30 volunteers gathered at the Public Works Department to receive supplies and briefing instructions before setting out to collect trash from various roadways in Palm Coast.

During this event, volunteers gathered over 40 bags of trash, totaling more than 750 pounds of debris. This figure does not include bulky miscellaneous items reported and collected by City staff en route. The most common items collected by volunteers were empty drink containers, such as plastic cups, aluminum cans, and glass bottles.

The designated litter-collection routes included Palm Coast Parkway, Belle Terre Parkway, Belle Terre Boulevard, White View Parkway, Pine Lakes Parkway, Matanzas Parkway, Seminole Woods Parkway, Royal Palms Parkway, and Old Kings Road South.

At the event’s conclusion, each volunteer received a Certificate of Completion, recognizing them as ‘Litter-Free Ambassadors’ in recognition of their significant contributions to upholding the city’s cleanliness. Additionally, Joline Cayton’s daughter, Jaylee, was acknowledged for collecting the most trash. Jaylee received essential safety gear, including a reflective vest, gloves, a trash picker, a bucket and City of Palm Coast branded merchandise for their continued litter pick-up volunteering efforts.

“We thank all the volunteers and teams for making the ‘Keep PC Clean’ event a big success,” said Alyssa Roscoe, Public Works Residential Collections Supervisor. “Your dedication shows our community’s support in keeping Palm Coast beautiful.
