Flagler County, Fla. (September 21, 2023) – The Flagler Tiger Bay Club is pleased to welcome Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida President Emeritus Dr. Edwin H. Moore in October.

Among his numerous roles in public service, Dr. Moore held the position of Policy Staff Director for the Florida House of Representatives, while concurrently serving as Staff Director of the Select Committee on Medical Liability Insurance, the Select Committee on Worker’s Compensation and the House Public Security Coordinating Committee. He also served as the House point staff person for disaster preparedness, continuing operations planning (COOP) and continuity of government (COG) planning.

Dr. Moore has also held the position of Executive Director for the Broward County Community Mental Health Board, and was the President and CEO of the James Madison Institute before taking the helm at the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida in 2003.

“Dr. Ed Moore is one of Florida’s foremost experts and most successful leaders in higher education. He brings several decades of experience and expertise to discussing public policy,” said leadership expert and professor, Dr. Joe Saviak. “This will be an excellent opportunity to gain a solid understanding of how Florida can lead the country and the world when it comes to higher education.”
