Palm Coast – A collapsed stormwater culvert pipe at the cross streets of Pine Lakes Parkway and Wellington Drive has created unsafe traveling conditions and an emergency structural repair is needed on this portion of the roadway.

The City of Palm Coast Stormwater Crews will replace the pipe beginning Monday, August 21, requiring a road closure. This is an open-cut project meaning the road will be opened to remove the existing pipe and install the replacement pipe. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, August 25, at 5 p.m.

The closure will impact eastbound traffic on Pine Lakes Parkway. A mandatory turnaround will redirect motorists back toward Palm Coast Parkway to use an alternative route. For those traveling from Belle Terre Parkway down Pine Lakes Parkway, a detour will guide them to the northern entrance of Wellington Drive. Road barricades, detour signs, digital message boards, and light-up signs will be placed on Pine Lakes Parkway, both north and south of Wellington Drive, to give residents notice to avoid the area.

The Stormwater Department crews will be working twelve-hour shifts to complete the repairs and get the roadway back open as quickly as possible. The City of Palm Coast appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and motorists during this time.
