Tell readers about yourself and how you discovered Flagler County.

My name is Sam Royer, I am the President of Salute Home Loans. I have been a leader in the mortgage industry for over 26 years now and absolutely love serving our community and country leaders.  I discovered Flagler County, Florida when my amazing wife, Maria “Terranova” Royer and I got married and I made Flagler County our home.

What do you love most about being in the real estate/mortgage industry?

What I love about being in the mortgage industry is the face you see when someone settles on their home.  Especially with the leaders I serve, military, law enforcement, educators, healthcare workers, 911 operators – they are so appreciative and I love this.

Your background includes being a veteran. Share your experience and why it was so meaningful to you to serve?

Being a Marine Veteran, I understand service and knowing what people do daily to serve, when they buy their home it is a special feeling. Police Officers protect our homes, Firefighters run in when there is a tragedy, Teachers help us with the most cherished we have, our children.  When I can put them into a home more affordably, it is the most meaningful feeling in the world!

You’ve been working diligently on The Helper Act. Why did you create this and how has it been a catalyst for Salute Home Loans?

The HELPER Act is something I came up with because I struggled with the fact that the community leaders, the Police, Firefighters, Teachers and EMT’s – they didn’t have an affordable option.  While working with places from the past, the retail “price” was just to high and honoring these leaders, we needed to create a new brand to “Salute their Service” through affordable options.

What can the community do to help support The Helper Act?

We are very thankful that Congressman Waltz locally has joined the bill.  The community can help though because many Florida residents “are not originally from Florida”.  Reach out to their home state legislators, get your families involved.  Find out more at www.PasstheHELPERAct.org
