Palm Coast, Florida – Today, Palm Coast Vice-Mayor Ed Danko officially filed for the 2024 election for Flagler County Board of County Commissioners, District 5.

“I am ready to move forward and serve not only the people of Palm Coast, but all the residents of Flagler County,” Danko said.  “We are growing fast and I am confident I can provide the strong leadership necessary to manage Flagler’s growth sensibly.”

“Promises made, promises kept,” Danko reminded supporters.  “I vowed to never vote to raise your taxes, and I have kept that pledge. I would rather drink anti-freeze than vote to raise your taxes.”

Danko was also successful in stopping the Palm Coast City Council from endorsing the Flagler County Commissioner’s “foolish failed attempt” to force a half-cent sale tax increase on residents in 2021.

The Vice-Mayor reminded voters of his promise to bring prayer to Palm Coast City Council meetings.

“I brought prayer to council for a vote,” Danko said.  “Shamefully, the other council members turned their backs on God and would not embrace prayer before each council meeting.”

Vice-Mayor Danko put a halt to the city’s WOKE agenda survey questions by requiring all city surveys be approved first by council before going public.

“No city survey should ask what gender you identify as. That was a very stupid question,” Danko said, adding, “The WOKE agenda is creating a world where our children are taught to question the very foundation of reality.  I will fight to keep this liberal brainwashing away from our children and out of Flagler County.”

Danko concluded, saying “We need better-paying jobs, and to get them we need to attract more business and industry to Flagler.  To accomplish this, we need strong conservative American values, common sense, hard work, and honesty.  Friends, I will always be that honest voice for Flagler.”

Besides being Vice-Mayor of Palm Coast, Danko has served as Vice-President of the Flagler Trump Club, and now serves as Public Relations Director of the Flagler Republican Trump Assembly.  He is a lifelong fiscal conservative, a strong supporter of our Second Amendment right to bear arms, a proud Navy Veteran who still serves as an Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.  He is a former Volunteer Firefighter, a past member of the Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis Club, and former Public Relations/Social Media Chairman for the Flagler County Republican Executive Committee.  In North Carolina he served on the Board of Directors of the Roanoke Island Historical Association (better known for the award-winning play “The Lost Colony” which unravels the mystery of America’s first settlers.)  Over the years, he has served on the boards of several homeowners’ associations.  Ed and Renee live in the W section of Palm Coast with their three rescued cats and their rescued dog Marshall.  Ed and Renee will tell you they did not rescue their pets, instead their pets rescued them.
