“You’ve heard the ad I’m not just the CEO of so-so Company, I’m also a user.”

Well, John Merced Sr. is not just the person who started the campaign for “Healing Blankets” or “Lazos de Amor”, he was recently a recipient of one Healing Blanket to give him support during his battle with cancer and going through chemo treatments.

This year, so far, John has collected 36 blankets that were blessed by Father Rob on April 13 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.  After the blessing 1/3 of the blankets were donated to the local Hospital, another 1/3 donated to Parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and the rest of the blankets were donated to the community to those that are sick or in need.

These blankets are created by wonderful volunteers of the Hispanic Club and also the Portuguese American Cultural Center (PACC) who are always willing to create and donate.  If anyone is interested in donating blankets or yarn to create more blankets please contact Maria Elizabeth Frazão Pereira by calling 386-446-0356.
