Palm Coast, FL – Looking a bit different this year, the Palm Coast Easter Egg’Stravaganza still delivered when it came to the things that matter – families and fun.
Some in Easter finery, others in play clothes and face paint, it was a mix of all ages as kids bounced eagerly from booth to booth, and baskets quickly filled up with the coveted shiny Easter eggs in between Shelia’s Sweet Funnel Cakes and Oreos, and stops at the Kona Ice truck.
The various booths, spaced widely apart, offered area children a chance to create bunny faces with pre-cut arts and crafts supplies, play free carnival games, and pick up goodie bags stuffed with stickers, eggs and more.
Among the booths, team members from the Palm Coast Home Depot greeted kids with their take it and make it craft kits that included tool boxes, planters, trucks, bunny planters.
Always excited to share their workshop kits, assistant store manager Linda Perez said families can stop into the store anytime and pick up a kit – it doesn’t have to be a special occasion.
“The kits are so much fun to make, you can put your own spin on them and make them your own,” she said. “We’re having a great time reminding everybody that we do still have workshop kits available at the store, we’re just not doing the actual activity right now.”
While team members from store #6363 participate in a number of outreach activities, this was their first time at the Egg’Stravaganza.
“This is very exciting,” said Perez. “We get to see all the kids in the community, future Home Depot shoppers and associates.”
Of course, no Easter event is complete without the main attraction and the Easter Bunny was the star of the show for families who lined up around city hall for a commemorative photo with the fluffy bunny.
Lauren Johnston, director of the city’s parks and recreation department was glad the team could still host the annual event that local families look forward to attending each year in Central Park.
“We were thrilled to be able to host Egg’Stravaganza this year,” said Johnston. “Our staff worked hard to alter plans and host the event safely along with the support of our community partners. Seeing the children’s smiles and all of the happy parents and grandparents on this beautiful day makes it all worth it.”
