Palm Coast, FL (June 17, 2022) – Ready to beat the heat, the Flagler Auditorium welcomed John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party to the big stage on Friday night with more than 800 guests eager to hear the sounds of 1950s hit makers Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly.
Patrons of all ages sang along with hit songs like Chantilly Lace, Donna and Oh Boy! from the trio as part of the number one official Buddy Holly tribute show, created by critically acclaimed performer John Mueller, capturing the spirit of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper’s last night performing on the Winter Dance Party tour in 1959 before their tragic plane crash.
Part nostalgia, part a hankering for a great live show, Suzie Myron drove over from DeLand to join friend and Palm Coast resident Mavis Moen, for the show.
“We were here for Bobby Darrin and then I saw this come on and thought this is my kind of music from my era. I love it,” said Myron.
Myron went from toe tapping to dancing during the show.
“I would have been up sooner but when La Bamba came on and everybody got up I thought ok,” she said.
A frequent patron of the Flagler Auditorium over the past 15 years, Moen loves the live shows and venue.
“It doesn’t matter what season it’s in, I go to whatever I like, and I come here quite often,” said Moen.
“It’s clean, it’s new, the bathrooms and everything, it’s got plenty of parking, it’s easy to be here,” she said.
The Flagler Auditorium will host two summer shows set for next week with the classic “School House Rock” in conjunction with City Repertory Theatre on June 22-23 at , and a special performance of “Ticket to the Moon“, and Electric Light Orchestra tribute featuring the Flagler Youth Orchestra on Saturday, June 25th at 7 PM.
