Palm Coast – Parks and Recreation Month in July is for our families, friends, and people of all ages. For nearly 40 years, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has championed this initiative, fostering a sense of belonging within our community. It promotes a love for the outdoors and offers opportunities to Explore, Connect, and Play! It also allows us to recognize our vital and dedicated recreation professionals, from full-time to part-time, seasonal workers to volunteers. We couldn’t maintain our community parks, trails, and facilities without you!
July 2024 National Parks and Recreation Month is about “Where You Belong.” We encourage our residents to share their positive experiences, moving stories, and fond memories on social media using the hashtag #WhereYouBelong. Isebelle Brenes, one of our Recreation Leaders, captures it best in her July is Parks and Rec Month Video.
“Parks and Recreation brings the community together. Our residents love the outdoors, our trails, and our parks. Parks and Recreation Month is about celebrating that and our incredible staff,” said Parks and Recreation Director James Hirst. “Here in Palm Coast, we encourage community throughout our programs and facilities.” No matter your interest, there’s something for everyone. We hope to see our residents celebrating Parks and Recreation Month with our multiple special events and beyond! See below for a list of upcoming special events this July:
Food Truck Tuesday: Located at Central Park in Town Center, July 16, from 5-8pm. We are excited to announce the return of BMX Trickstars, who will be putting on a BMX stunt show while guests enjoy an array of cuisines. Proceeds this month will support Parks & Recreation Summer Scholarship Program.
