The City of Palm Coast wishes to inform residents and visitors of upcoming improvements to Ralph Carter Park, located at 1385 Rymfire Dr in Palm Coast. These improvements include enhancing the park, covering various aspects such as enhanced lighting, adjusting operating hours, evaluating sports field usage, and tracking participation numbers.
Starting in March 2024, residents can expect noticeable improvements at Ralph Carter Park to enhance safety and optimize recreational amenities. These improvements include installing longer light bulb visors and adjusting light positioning for better visibility.
Then, in May 2024, field enhancements will begin to ensure high-quality playing surfaces. For several months, there will be no field permits issued to allow for field regrading and to allow the new sod to root properly. There will be increased traffic in and out of the park during the construction phase.
Additionally, there will be changes to operating hours at Ralph Carter Park to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for visitors. Field lights will be turned off at 9:00 p.m., while lights at basketball courts and the skate park will be switched off at 10:00 p.m., with enforcement by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
To address concerns about parking at Ralph Carter Park, the city has installed no parking signs within the park and along Rymfire Drive. Additionally, parking options will be available during nights and weekends at Rymfire Elementary School, located adjacent to the park.
The City of Palm Coast is committed to enhancing safety and recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors. The improvements at Ralph Carter Park reflect this dedication to providing outstanding facilities and ensuring the well-being of the community.
The city previously hosted a public outreach event focused on Ralph Carter Park on the evening of February 28, 2024, to discuss these improvements.
