May is National Bike Month, and it is a great time to celebrate bicycling across Florida. National Bike Month, organized by the League of American Bicyclists, is a chance to ride more, invite others to join you, and highlight the many benefits of bicycling for health, community, and mobility.

National Bike Month 2026 Calendar
May 3 (Sunday) – National Ride a Bike Day
May 6 (Wednesday) – National Bike & Roll to School Day
May 11–17 – Bike to Work Week
May 15 (Friday) – National Bike to Work Day
May 20 (Wednesday) – Ride of Silence, a solemn ride to honor people killed or injured in traffic crashes

For local events and rides in your area, please check with your local bike club for a list of Bike Month activities near you.

This month is about getting more people on bikes and building momentum for safer bicycling across Florida. Invite a friend, take a ride, and share your Bike Month moments on social media with #BikeMonth2026 and #RideFlorida.

And please remember to support or join a Ride of Silence on May 20. It is one of the most meaningful events of the month and an important reminder of why safer bicycling matters.
