Ahoy, fellow anglers! Adam Morley here, reporting live from the ever-changing waters of Crescent Beach. As the proud owner of Genung’s Fish Camp, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the fishing scene despite the ongoing setbacks caused by the unpredictable weather patterns.
(Para with a load of Pompano)
Now, let’s talk about the highlights of the past week. Despite the inconsistency in weather, the most promising reports have been coming in about limits of pompano in the surf. Anglers have been finding success using a variety of baits, including Fishbites, live sand fleas, blue crabs, and fresh shrimp. It’s been a pompano paradise out there!
But that’s not all—while targeting pompano, anglers have also been picking up a few nice whiting in the surf. It seems like the fish are just as eager to take the bait as we are to catch them!
Now, let’s talk about those elusive bluefish I’ve been reporting on for the last few weeks. While they seem to have slowed down a bit, there are still a few reports suggesting they’re hanging around in the area, at least for now. So keep your eyes peeled and your lines ready—you never know when you might hook into one of these feisty fighters.
As for the flounder, well, I mentioned they should be showing up a few reports back, and I stand by that. They should be showing up…but unfortunately, that hasn’t materialized just yet. But fear not, my fellow anglers, because I have a feeling they’ll make their grand entrance soon enough.
Now, let’s talk about some of the other species making waves in our waters. Redfish, trout, black drum, and mangrove snapper reports have been as consistent as a four-year-old with a sugar buzz. It seems like these fish just can’t get enough of our local waters—and who can blame them?
Before I sign off, I want to give a shoutout to the Flagler Sportfishing Club for hosting its Spring Classic Fishing Tournament later this month. For more information on this event and other tournaments, be sure to visit flaglersportfishing.com.
That’s all for now, folks! Until next time, tight lines and smooth sailing!
