PALM COAST, FL (May 25, 2021) – The Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce has launched its Return to Work initiative, which will:
- Encourage unemployed Flagler County residents to search for and find work by connecting them to open job opportunities offered by local businesses and support organizations.
- Engage local business leaders and urge them to share their open job opportunities with the Chamber and CareerSource, so those groups may actively work on filling those positions using existing systems and social media campaigns.
“There are many open jobs in Flagler County and the Chamber and CareerSource Flagler-Volusia stand ready to assist residents who are out of work as they return to the workforce,” said Greg Blosé, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber.
Blose continued, “I want Flagler County residents collecting unemployment to be ready for the big changes happening next week. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced he will not sign an extension waiver on work search requirements for Floridians collecting unemployment benefits. As of May 29, 2021, Flagler County residents collecting unemployment must begin to search for work to continue collecting unemployment compensation.”
Robin King, President & CEO of CareerSource Flagler-Volusia said, “Through the ‘Return to Work’ initiative, we encourage residents interested in learning about a new career or the latest in job search techniques, to turn to CareerSource Flagler Volusia for assistance. We help job seekers explore new employment opportunities, assist with scholarships for workforce and job-training, and provide career advancement assistance.”
