January 4, 2022 (DeLand, Florida) – The Volusia-Flagler Rainbow Alliance announced that it has begun accepting applications for scholarships for the 2022 school year starting January 1, 2022. These scholarships are available to LGBTQ+ students currently enrolled in college, trade school, or an educational internship.

“We have streamlined our application process; it is now completely online, and we have eliminated the requirement for the applicant to provide statements of financial need, such as a copy of a FAFSA,” Rainbow Alliance Scholarship Chair Dr. Meg Young explained.

“We hope to be able to reach a greater number of potential applicants by making the process not only easier but less intrusive,” Dr. Young said.

The scholarship grants will be in an amount up to $500. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022, with decisions announced on May 1, 2022.
